5. Facility Use Conditions
5.1 The Facilities
The Island Indoor Skatepark features a comprehensive layout designed for all skill levels and riding styles:
- Street Zone: Rails, ledges, stairs, manual pads, and various technical obstacles
- Ramps and Quarters: Different heights for progression and air tricks
- Bowl: Flow section for carving lines and transitions
- Beginner Area: Smaller obstacles and safer space for learning basics
- Chill Zone: Rest area to hang out, watch sessions, and connect with the community
5.2 General Rules
- Rates and Schedule: Entry fee €10/day or €40/month. Open Tue/Thu/Sat 16:30-20:00
- Minors: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult or present signed authorization
- Safety Gear: Use of protective equipment (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads) is mandatory
- Equipment Rental: Protective gear and equipment can be rented at our facilities
- Personal Responsibility: Each user is responsible for their own safety and equipment
- Respect: Respect the turn and space of other users - no snaking!
- Smoke-Free: Consumption of alcohol, drugs or tobacco is prohibited on the premises
- Food & Drink: Outside food or drinks are not allowed (except water). Good vibes only!
5.3 Skatepark Etiquette - "Snake Rules"
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask all users to follow these basic rules of respect and coexistence. At The Island, we live by the "Snake Rules" - don't snake, respect the flow:
- Respect Turns: Don't "snake" - wait your turn before dropping in. If someone is already riding, let them finish their line
- Communicate: Call out your lines, make eye contact, and be aware of other riders around you
- Help Others: Support and encourage other riders, especially beginners. We all started somewhere
- Share the Space: The park is for everyone. Be considerate and don't hog obstacles
- Celebrate: Cheer on good tricks, celebrate progress, and spread positive vibes
- Keep it Clean: Pick up your trash and respect our space. Good vibes only!
Remember: The Island is more than a skatepark - it's a community. Respect, support, and good vibes make our sessions better for everyone.
5.4 ASSUMPTION OF RISK DECLARATION
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. BY ENTERING THE ISLAND INDOOR SKATEPARK AND USING OUR FACILITIES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
EXTREME SPORTS WARNING: Skateboarding, BMX, scootering, and roller skating are EXTREME SPORTS that involve significant inherent risks of serious injury. These activities are inherently dangerous and no amount of care, caution, instruction, or expertise can eliminate these risks.
POTENTIAL INJURIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Bone fractures (including skull, spine, and limbs)
- Sprains, strains, and dislocations
- Concussions and traumatic brain injuries
- Spinal cord injuries resulting in partial or complete paralysis
- Lacerations, abrasions, and contusions
- Internal injuries and organ damage
- Permanent disability
- DEATH
VOLUNTARY ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISKS: I understand and acknowledge that participation in skateboarding, BMX, scootering, roller skating, and related activities at The Island Indoor Skatepark involves known and unknown risks. I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS, both known and unknown, associated with my participation in these activities, including but not limited to risks arising from:
- The condition of the facilities, equipment, and premises
- The actions, omissions, or negligence of other participants, spectators, or staff
- My own physical condition, skill level, and experience
- Equipment failure or defects (whether owned or rented)
- Environmental conditions within the facility
WAIVER OF RIGHT TO SUE: In consideration for being permitted to use the facilities of The Island Indoor Skatepark, I hereby WAIVE, RELEASE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE The Island Indoor Skatepark, its owners, operators, employees, agents, instructors, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from my use of the facilities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW ALL RULES: I agree to abide by ALL rules, regulations, and instructions established by The Island Indoor Skatepark. I understand that failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate removal from the premises without refund and potential prohibition from future use.
5.5 RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue The Island Indoor Skatepark, its owners, managers, employees, agents, instructors, volunteers, and all other persons or entities acting on their behalf (collectively, "Releasees") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in such activity, while in, on, or around the premises, or while using any equipment, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.
INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS: I agree to INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, and HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including attorney's fees, brought as a result of my involvement in the activities and/or my use of the equipment and facilities, and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I acknowledge that while the use of protective equipment (helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards) is MANDATORY and may reduce the risk of certain injuries, such equipment DOES NOT ELIMINATE the inherent risks of these extreme sports. I accept full responsibility for ensuring my protective equipment is properly fitted and maintained.
The Island Indoor Skatepark is not responsible for:
- Injuries or personal damage suffered during use of the facilities, regardless of cause
- Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings or equipment
- Damage to user's personal equipment
- Accidents caused by misuse of facilities or non-compliance with rules
- Injuries caused by the actions or negligence of other participants
- Any claims arising from equipment rental or use
Personal accident insurance is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for all participants.
5.6 MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
DISCLOSURE OF MEDICAL CONDITIONS: I understand and acknowledge that I have a duty to disclose any medical conditions, physical limitations, or health concerns that may affect my ability to safely participate in activities at The Island Indoor Skatepark. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Heart conditions or cardiovascular problems
- Respiratory conditions (asthma, COPD, etc.)
- Neurological conditions (epilepsy, seizures, etc.)
- Musculoskeletal injuries or conditions
- Balance or coordination disorders
- Vision or hearing impairments
- Pregnancy
- Any condition that could be aggravated by physical activity
- Current medications that may affect judgment, balance, or physical ability
CONFIRMATION OF PHYSICAL FITNESS: By using the facilities, I confirm that I am in adequate physical condition to participate in extreme sports activities at The Island Indoor Skatepark. I have not been advised by a medical professional to avoid such activities.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS: I understand and accept that The Island Indoor Skatepark is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the aggravation of any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that may occur during my use of the facilities. I assume all risk related to any pre-existing conditions.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION: In the event of an emergency, I authorize The Island Indoor Skatepark staff to contact emergency medical services and provide basic first aid as needed. I understand that I am responsible for all costs associated with emergency medical treatment.
5.7 PARENTAL/GUARDIAN CONSENT FOR MINORS
IF THE PARTICIPANT IS A MINOR (UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE), A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST READ AND AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
ASSUMPTION OF RISKS ON BEHALF OF MINOR: As the parent or legal guardian of the minor participant, I hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms set forth in this Legal Notice, including the Assumption of Risk Declaration and Release of Liability. I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS on behalf of my child/ward, both known and unknown, that may result from their participation in activities at The Island Indoor Skatepark.
RELEASE ON BEHALF OF MINOR: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue The Island Indoor Skatepark, its owners, operators, employees, agents, and instructors on behalf of my minor child/ward from any and all claims arising from their participation in activities at the facility, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS:
- Children under 14 years of age MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while on the premises
- Minors aged 14-17 may use the facilities without direct supervision only with written parental authorization on file
- I agree to ensure that my minor child understands and follows all rules and safety guidelines
- I accept responsibility for my minor child's behavior and any damage they may cause to facilities or other users
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION: In the event that my minor child requires emergency medical treatment while at The Island Indoor Skatepark, I hereby authorize the staff to:
- Contact emergency medical services (112)
- Provide or authorize basic first aid and emergency care
- Transport my child to the nearest medical facility if necessary
- Make medical decisions on my behalf if I cannot be reached
I understand that I am financially responsible for all costs associated with emergency medical treatment for my minor child.
INDEMNIFICATION FOR MINOR: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Island Indoor Skatepark from any claims brought by or on behalf of my minor child, and from any claims arising from my minor child's participation in activities at the facility.
5.8 Photography, Video, and Social Media
The Island is a creative space where photography and video recording are part of the culture. By using our facilities, you consent to being photographed or recorded. We encourage sharing the stoke!
- Personal Recording: Feel free to film your sessions, document your progress, and capture those bangers
- Tagging and Sharing: When you share content on social media, tag us @theislandindoor and use our hashtags. We love seeing your clips!
- Official Content: The Island may use photos and videos taken at the park for promotional purposes on our website, social media, and marketing materials
- Privacy Requests: If you prefer not to appear in our official content, please let staff know
- Commercial Use: Commercial filming, photography, or content creation for brands/sponsors requires prior written authorization from management
- Drones: Drone use inside the park is prohibited without express permission due to safety concerns
- Respect Others: Always ask before posting content that prominently features other riders, especially minors

5.9 Classes and Bookings
The Island offers personalized and group classes for Skate, BMX, Scooter, Roller, and any modern sport that can be practiced at the skatepark. Our classes are designed to help you progress safely and have fun. Class bookings are subject to the following conditions:
- Booking: Classes must be booked in advance through the website or by contacting John directly via WhatsApp at +34 680 85 11 12
- Instructor: All classes are taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching and progression
- Cancellations: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to receive a refund or reschedule. Last-minute cancellations may not be eligible for refunds
- Punctuality: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Late arrivals may result in reduced class time without refund
- Equipment: Students must bring their own equipment (board, bike, scooter, skates) and mandatory safety gear (helmet, pads). Rental equipment may be available upon request
- Progression: Classes are tailored to individual skill levels and goals. We focus on fundamentals, safety, and building confidence
- Group Classes: Group classes have a maximum of 6 students to ensure quality instruction and safety
- Passes and Memberships: Monthly passes have expiration dates and are non-refundable
